Not much going on here at the moment, but found these p
hotos of my trip to
Looking at these photos reminds me how different Japan is, and has caused me to com
e up with some important questions about Japan that need to be asked, such as:
“Why is it that Japan can’t do parks where the grass actually gets cut?”
“Why are there powerlines that ruin EVERY landscape?”
“Why are all the buildings made out of plastic?”
“Why can’t you people DRIVE?”.
If you know the answer to any of these questions, please send me a comment or email. I’d be interested to know. The first 10 correct answers will be sent to the Japanese Ministry for Urban Planning.

hey!!
some answers to your questions...
1. The Japanese cannot cut grass as they are all too busy cutting hair
2. Learn to appreciate the aesthetic linear relationship between the powerline and the landscape.
3. Houses are made from plastic so they can easily be recycled. they are big on recycling here. especially in my town. My house is made of paper. I can put it out on tuesdays.
4. Japan is big on education. Everything must be learnt at a school. Driving is no different.
The problem is it is impossible to drive fast at driving school. Therefore they learn to drive at the comfotable and safe speed of 10kms/hr. There is also no traffic here. This is why Japanese people cannot drive.
Hope these answers satisfy some of your concerns.
ps. the word Kawaiiii grates on my nerves too. In my school, theyre big on

I also have answers:
1) Grass actually not run over, merely finely groomed to give the appearance of having been run over, thus acting as a daily reference to the impermanence of this world and it's illusions
2) Japan's rapid period of industrialisation didn't give enough time to bury the power lines- you know Japan.. out of sight, out of mind.
3) Only appears to be plastic.. actually a complex new concrete compound that repels Godzilla
4) Driving conspiracy to keep people from jaywalking
to comment on Alex's (my names better) comment.. oh man, there's nothing more shrill to the ears than a drunk high school girl screaming "kawaiii!!!".. yes, it does make a higher pitch, but not high enough so that only dogs can hear it. one may only dream.
